Assorted Pictures

Like most people, I take 845683945 on my phone with the intention of putting them on facebook or tumblr or whatever, but they never get out.

Here's just an assortment of pictures I have on my phone and computer. I don't remember the context of most of them. Most of them involve my cats in some way.

Jamie thinks he is a person. Sunday is very camera-shy.

Not entirely sure where we were going that day. Or why I was pulling that face. I think Shaun might have made fun of my face in the first photo and I was like well fuck you then

Absolutely zero memory of where we were going that day
Possibly the zoo.

My mum's partner's dog Fluppy and me.
No, he's not frightened. That's. That's just what he looks like

Mmm...Wickham. Anyone who has spent a while around me
knows that Wickham is my favourite character from Pride and Prejudice.
This street is near my mum's house.

There's a pussy party on my bed - and I'm not invited!

Jamie is a bit of a strange cat.

Jamie and Ridcully have a tense relationship. They are either
chasing each other and fighting, or this.

This looks comfortable.

I like to imagine they are playing Minecraft.

Ridcully loves a snuggle when I'm wearing my fuzzy pink jumper.

Jamie likes to be held like a baby. Stays there for hours!

Okay, that last one actually has a story. I was at Supanova to meet Alex Kingston, when there should my good mate Tarquin - also known as the Fourth Doctor - should appear. After I'd had my autograph and chat, I went off to find him and help him while he takes pictures (he is not a photographer, but likes to collect cosplay photographs, usually amassing some 500 per convention). We ran across this Tenth Doctor cosplayer who had is tie tied very ill, and the Fourth Doctor couldn't let his baby-faced older self continue on in that fashion.

There was also a very fun moment that day where Tarquin found another guy with the scarf on in the enormous line for Alex Kingston. Tarquin pulled this bloke out of the line, had me hold the ends of both of the scarves and have them walk off in a direction together. Tarquin's scarf, you see, is the proper 21ft length. The other person's...was not. Tarquin then proceeded to make a lot of "mine's bigger than yours" jokes, much to the amusement of the roughly 400 people in the Alex Kingston line.

Do you have any photographs that you have forgotten the context for? How about photographs with a great story, or funny convention stories? I would love to see and read!

(The Legend Of) Miss Baltimore Crabs

Apparently I was channelling Velma Von Tussle from Hairspray on friday.

I was going to have lunch with my sister and made the mistake of not wearing my corset. I unfortunately could not take pictures of my outfit, but I was wearing the following

Outfit:
-Anna House blouse - what's with lolita blouses and the awkward ending just above the waist with a frill? I don't understand!
-Hell Bunny petticoat - black with purple trim. It was covered in cat fur, I did my best to get it off but cat hair is hard to get out!
-a black skirt I have that I wear inside-out under my petticoat since it's a little sheer. Yes, I wear a petticoat under a petticoat.
-Black and white striped tights that I had cut the tops off to make into stockings, along with some cheap leggings I had that ripped the first time I wore them. I tore them up, safety pinned them back together and wear them over my stockings, with suspenders. I wear these all the time!

Makeup:
-Lush Jackie Oats colour supplement (it smells like porridge! suits my Native skin tone perfectly)
-Lush Emotional Brilliance translucent powder.
-Illamasqua mascara (I desperately need some new mascara! you should change it every three months but I'm broke as hell)
-I don't even know the brand of liquid eyeliner. It's from some outlet shop. I love it to death, and ran out of my Illamasqua ages ago.
-Illamasqua Nymph blush, which I love and need to get more of as well.
-Illamasqua Salacious lipstick - my fall-back colour. It's lovely and I wear it more than any other colour since it's a bit pinky and looks lovely with purple or red gloss over it.
-Manic Panic gel eye liner - say what you like about Manic Panic (a long way away from me preferably because I am a huge fan) but I love their makeup. I need more of it, because mine is slightly manky at this point XD

Assorted Ridcullycat, because he's pretty.

We actually went to the Veggie Bar in Fitzroy. It's our general family meeting place. Of course, I'm a chronic overdresser - I always show up like I'm going to a ball or something, and my family are in jeans and a cardigan.

Am I the only one? Is it a goth thing? Please let me know!

I Call It the Jane

ignore my face, I'm not a good picture-taker alright?

But yeah, this is my "I didn't set my hair last night fuck" look. I was going to go out this afternoon but ended up having an emotional breakdown over my ruined fully fashioned stockings and didn't go out instead. Now i'm just sitting here eating sandwiches.

There was nothing else to this post. Just that. xD I call it my Jane Bennet because I watch too much Pride and Prejudice (speaking of I'm starting on my cosplay for P&P this week, as soon as I get bones for the bodiced petticoat).

New Hair Colour!

As promised! I had some old things of Manic Panic (After Midnight Blue and the Fuchsia, which is I think called something silly like Fuchsia Shock or something) about the house, and well, here's the result.

I take terrible photos of myself. Please excuse the undressedness, my lack of eyebrows and the fact I'm not dressed.

Since I didn't have much blue, I just used it on my sideburns to make streaks, which will look heavenly when my hair is actually done. I also hacked off my fringe. It looks a bit lopsided now but when I actually style it, it'll be fine.

Also please excuse the small African nation that has appeared on my lip there. I'm having a bit of an all-over breakout

While I've used these dyes before, it's been years (see: six years for the fuchsia, and never for the blue) since I used them on actually bleached hair. They are really very vibrant, much more so than I remember. The blue doesn't hold too well on my roots (although you can see it ok in strong light) but the fuchsia works as well as I remember.

I managed to get most of the dye off my shoulders too! Using Lush Fresh Farmacy facial cleanser, no less.

A success all round!

Holy New Blogs, Batman!

Wow, a brand new blog! It's been a while since I've been at this.

I decided to make a new blog at long last, mostly focusing on hair. Because. Hair. It seemed appropriate to start it today because I am no longer going to be blonde!

I decided to start making the transition back to my natural colour at long last, because I can't really afford the upkeep at this time - but the blonde will be back! Oh yes, it will be back.

Later today, I'll post a picture of my finished hair, which, with luck, will be purply-pink with blue. I'm excited to be blogging again, too! Expect to see a post per week at the least, with fashion and sewing projects as well as hair and cosmetics.

The name of the blog is The Queen of Brush-Outs. This is, of course, a pun. A queen, besides being the female monarch of a country, is also the word for a female cat. I am both a diva, and named Cat. A brush-out is, of course, what one does to style curled hair.

The dye is calling me, though - bye for now!
